Matthew Watson: Art Photographer

My name is Matthew Watson. I am a high school senior, and I created this website at the beginnng of the school year in order to display the photos I took while taking Mrs. Keres's Photography 2 class.

I first took Photography classes in my freshman year, starting off with dark room prints and pinhole cameras. This year with Mrs. Keres marks my second year of photography at my high school, Gaithersburg High School. The type of photography I love the most is macro photography, because they help to create another world hidden right below our eyes. I also enjoy taking studio portraits, particularly because they help to capture emotions of excitement and joy that I love revisiting later after printing or publishing them on my website.

In the fall, I will be pursuing a career in journalism at Montgomery College, although I'd love to continue with photography as a hobby. I want to give a big thanks to Mrs. Keres for making photography a fun and exciting activity the whole year with every new project. Finally, I would also like to thank my friends and family for showing support and love in my endeavors nonstop for these four fantastic years at GHS!
